A mobile phone number consists of a mobile phone code and a seven-digit subscriber number. Therefore, a mobile phone number is written as 0641163685 Mobile phones in Thailand use 900/1800 MHz for GSM. Re: Calling bank 1-800 number. 5 years ago. You dial +1800-etc on a mobile phone and pay full rate. To call with your phone + local SIM, using one of the discounted access codes (AIS's 003 as an example) is simply 0031800-etc. Forget the 011 stuff you use in Canada, this is Thailand.
That means I dialled local access codes (or "+") plus country code and number to call abroad, and just the area code and number to call nationally/locally. So in Thailand you would dial "+" or 001, then country code (1 for the US) + area code and number. NOT 011!
For UK International Directory Enquiries, call 118 505. Good luck. For the OP, I think you can forget finding someone from the Bangkok telephone directory. As above, many phones are listed in the landlord's name, and many people don't even have a landline phone, but rely on their cells, which have no listing.
Worldwide distribution of country calling codes. Regions are coloured by first digit. Country calling codes, country dial-in codes, international subscriber dialing (ISD) codes, or most commonly, telephone country codes are telephone number prefixes for reaching telephone subscribers in foreign countries or areas via international telecommunication networks.
Since I won't have a sim card until I arrive I have no idea of the carrier we will use to make calls back to the US. I want to know how I should enter a US and Thailand phone number in the phone ahead of time. For example say I want to call my home back in US with a made up number of 715-555-1212. Would I enter that as 001-1-715-555-1212.
