    That means I dialled local access codes (or "+") plus country code and number to call abroad, and just the area code and number to call nationally/locally. So in Thailand you would dial "+" or 001, then country code (1 for the US) + area code and number. NOT 011!

    For UK International Directory Enquiries, call 118 505. Good luck. For the OP, I think you can forget finding someone from the Bangkok telephone directory. As above, many phones are listed in the landlord's name, and many people don't even have a landline phone, but rely on their cells, which have no listing.

I want to know how I should enter a US and Thailand phone number in the phone ahead of time. For example say I want to call my home back in US with a made up number of 715-555-1212. Would I enter that as 001-1-715-555-1212.
