Re: AT&T Phone Service to US. 2 years ago. I always use ATT when I travel internationally, it costs $10 a day for an international plan, it automatically turns on and off when you leave the country and when you return. Unlimited talk and data so if the wifi isn't good I use my phone as a hot spot and teether my laptop to the phone.

Without the plan calls are $.99/minute. You can remove the plan after you return home and are sure that all calls have been posted to your account.

NewWaveGirl77, that AT&T thing looks ideal. It SEEMS to say in the fine print that from the time you make the first call to the U.S., as long as you stop using the plan before 24 hours are up, you can go as many days as you want without using it and without paying for it, and then when you do use it, you've got another 24 hours of use.

8 years ago. I just spoke with ATT yesterday in advance of our trip to St Martin. I was told that as long as you are on WiFi, you can text using iMessage to anyone with another iPhone for free. It was a very confusing conversation but that's what I came back with for what is free. Anything else will cost you money unless you have purchased an ...

    1. Re: Using ATT cell phone in Norway. Turning off roaming for data leaves your phone open to receive calls, but you will pay to receive calls. To anyone calling you it will appear that your phone is in the US and they will pay to call US. You will pay the charge from US to Norway.
