The mountain is 6 miles from the Meadow Village, and while there are restaurants and shops in Meadow Village, there are other options on the mountain and also below meadow village that would be more easily accessed by car. If you have not been to big Sky or Moonlight Basin before, the mountains are awesome.

Re: Big Sky Mountain Village vs. Town of Big Sky. Big Sky has great skiing. The Town Center or Meadow area which are both down the mountain from the Mountain Village will be less expensive for lodging. The free shuttle bus has a good schedule which takes a little time to understand but saves driving up and down the mountain.
