4. Re: Using AAA to book rental car through Hertz. 2 years ago. You need liability insurance and insurance on the vehicle itself. You'll purchase liability through your car rental company (that's required), but this AAA insurance may cover the vehicle. The only way to know for sure is to contact Hertz directly though. Report inappropriate content.
Thanks. It appears there's no AAA discount on Hertz right now except for weekend and weekly rentals (I'm renting for 4 weekdays). Hertz has a 25% off discount coupon code, but it only allows one CDP code, so it won't let me enter my AAA information to get the free second driver.

Ok I will probably book through Hertz europe website using AAA coupon, which waves underage fee, but it says CDW and LDW is included and some additional insurance, but the terms and conditions are only some general USA conditions and its pretty complicated.
110 helpful votes. 6. Re: extra charge on Hertz car rental for being over 65. 12 years ago. For a Hertz reservation, they ask your age in this manner: 18-19, 20-24 or 25+. There is no mention of a charge for a 65+ driver. I called them and got the same information. I think there is some misunderstanding here.

23 posts. Best time to rent from Hertz. 5 years ago. Hello all! I'm planning a future trip that will require me to rent a car from Hertz. The total trip will take roughly 2 weeks, so I'm trying to keep the rental cost down. I'm 21 and a AAA member, so Hertz makes the most sense as they waive the under 25 fee for AAA members.
Reservation: I used a corporate discount (from the US) to make the reservation for a mid-sized car at the Cancun airport rental locations for our one week stay near Tulum. The rate was $50.52 for the week, with various taxes and fees taking the estimated total to $78.86.
