   Hello. I need to rent a car for 3/4 weeks. I have been driving a lot in Sri Lanka on a bike and have a Sri Lankan driving license / permit for bike and car.Due to circumstances I cannot go with a driver as we may need to leave at any minute to go from Ahangama to Colombo (due to pregnancy).

   Suggestion ;Your own local currency covert to USD then USD to LKR. you have currency conversion lost. Hence try to pay your Hotel bills and transportation charges (Which it is large numbers) in USD and keep some small LKR for pocket money for small payments. Standard bank rates are available in Airport exchange counters.
