1. Re: American Airlines Vacations. Yes, once because it had the best price. I've used a travel agent more than once, cheap Caribbean, bookit, apple vacations, and AA Vacations. All have gone as planned. If they have the best price, I say book it without hesitation. I almost always book private transfer through Cancun Tours.
Any changes / cancellation have to go through the agent. Hence you will have a middle man between you and the airline. So, best solution is to book directly with the airline, then the relation is between you and the airline. Saving 30-60 USD is no amount to take the risk of having a middle man. Plans were on time and travel went well on this trip. Flight was excellent and American was good. The horror started with the car rental company in Texas. rental car company E-Z car rental aka Advantage Car Rental did not go as well. Could not find where to review rental care companies.
