Re: Seniors discount. No, I would not say its true by any stretch that seniors enjoy 20% off in "most" establishments in the Philippines. Restaurants, bars, malls etc do not offer these discounts for over 60's as a general rule. Some hotels might, and maybe some public transport, but check first and don't assume.

There is a Senior Citizen's discount--don't know about the NM resident discount. I was able to save significant $$ by joining as a Senior and using the membership to defray cost of admission for my wife, daughter, son-in-law (granddaughter was free, I think!).
