Google Map Maker. Google Map Maker was a map editing service launched by Google in June 2008. [ 2] In geographies where it is hard to find providers of good map data, user contributions were used to increase map quality. Changes to Google Map Maker were intended to appear on Google Maps only after sufficient review by Google moderators.
On April 19, 2011, Map Maker was added to the American version of Google Maps, allowing any viewer to edit and add changes to Google Maps. This provides Google with local map updates almost in real-time instead of waiting for digital map data companies to release more infrequent updates.

Oh, absolutely! I not only have seen Greece through Google, I have seen my very house and nearby neighborhood. The one I grew up and the current one my parents live in. Pretty wild. And the photo is pretty clear, compared to other countries where they are pretty blurry. I love Google earth for that matter - to view different countries. :o) Amy
