Received a polited and comprehensive response to my original email yesterday. Don't like the answer, but the fine print is clear. Since we were not checked in a hour before the flight (internantional), our bags could not be put on the plane and schedule changes are our responsibility. $1,100 is a lot to pay for a lesson in reading fine print, but I probably won't forget.

I flew a domestic American Airlines flight from Orlando, Florida to Denver, Colorado. The flight staff spilled a soda on my pants and when I went to clean my clothing in the bathroom I told to get back to "my seat". Additional, inappropriate statements were made, by American Airlines staff, to me, which I do not wish to repeat.
