You can use Expedia or other third party sites to compare rates, but then go directly to the rental car company's website to reserve. It's better not to get a third party involved, especially if there are any issues.
What, exactly, did the contract state, because the website clearly states "unlimited Kilometers". If they tried to charge someone you could use that as proof that unlimited milage was included with the rental. I use Avis all the time and have never come across this language.
