4. Re: American Airlines Seat Selection at check in. 5 years ago. If you have already booked, you can still pick your seats now. Just go into My Trips. Once you enter your PNR (record locator) and name and your itinerary is located, you can pull up the seat map (as indicated above) by selecting Change Seats.
As far as assuring a seat you want on BA unless you have status you will have to pay for a seat selection or wait until online check in opens 24 hours before departure. If you have frequent flyer status you can choose a seat earlier depending on status level. For AA I believe you should be able to pick a seat now, maybe not if basic economy.
