The Better Business Bureau is issuing a nationwide warning to customers about Payless Car Rental, a major car rental company found at airports across the country. The BBB says it has received more than 800 complaints about Payless in the past three years and has given the company an F rating. 49.

The best I could get at Dollar was $444 for the week. The round trip shuttle will cost $90, but rentals in Colorado Springs are about $250 less than Denver, and since I'm working for a non-profit, I'll probably go ahead and do that. It's hard to belief the difference in prices between the two cities.
Had a reservation for rental car at Payless last week for a rock bottom price. Agent was determined to upsell some services but we just kept saying "no". When I went to sign the contract, it was $120 more than I had reserved. He explained it cost $10 per every partial of full day for a spouse to drive plus tax.
Payless charged our credit card for the higher amount on the day we started our rental. Upon our return, we called to straighten out the charges. They claim we turned the car in one day later than we did and have said the only way to prove we turned it in is to provide a faxed copy of our boarding passes.
