We again contacted Hertz via email, adding to our questions whether in shifting the location Hertz would honour their contract with us (as it seems we have no option but to shift location), and to ask for the operating hours of the Reservation Department or for an email address (as we're in Australia so timezones complicate matters).

If insurance was included in your booking, then it should have been reflected on the booking - you should have had something to show that insurance was included.

Yes, contracts are binding but there's no contract until you sign the rental agreement. The reservation is just that, a reservation. There are no laws that compel car rental companies to honor reservations. And Hertz describes prepayment as a discount program, not a guarantee. IMO (IF this location is truly closed) your position when speaking with Hertz customer should be for *them* to come up with a convenient alternative *at the price you've agreed to*. Don't take no for an answer . While you could take Amtrak north - it requires reservations for specific trains (at least 2 weeks in advance for the best prices)
Answer 11 of 19: I sent Hertz at Denver International Airport an e-mail inquiry about a charge that was added to my bill upon my returning it. To date - 2+ weeks later - I have not yet gotten a reply.
