I recently rented a car from Hertz at SFO. I expected the best and got the worst. Never again. This morning we got home from another trip to SFO, we rented from Alamo- by far and away the best rental experience I've had at SFO. I recommend them completely! I have had many experiences over the last 17 years renting cars thru SFO.

Who has the brightest selection and less queues at reception? am looking to hire a standard SUV. I normally book Alamo when at LAX, as u can just use the self check in counter and then go pick up car.
Answer 1 of 11: Have two identical reservations (car-SUV-, price, coverage, dates etc.), both at the San Francisco Airport. One with Hertz and the other with Thrifty.
