I like Alamo because you can just swipe at the kiosk and be on your way without any sales pitch for insurances etc. Hertz and Avis are fine. 160 helpful votes. 2. Re: Best car rental company at Burbank airport? 8 years ago. Save. When I said best I meant the most convenient and good customer service. I ended up using Alamo (through Costco). It was quick and easy! I wouldn't hesitate to use Alamo at Burbank airport again.
I've just started to research the next trip - a 19 day stay, collecting the car from the airport at New York and returning it there - and find them priced at £1274 and £1488, for the 19 day trip. As Bob Hope Airport is so small, there are only 4 car rental places on site. Alamo, Avis, Hertz & National. You can easily walk to all of them. There are also all the additional car rental places - but the rest are off-site and require a shuttle. Alamo & National will probably be the cheaper of the four.
