I am a member of the Emerald Club and have used National Car Rental at Tampa Airport for the last 8 yrs at least 2-3 times a year. I just checked the rates for a standard car from Nov 6-Nov 20 and with 2 coupons and my contract id the cost is $816.50. I just checked the rates at the Westin National and for the same amt of days it's $350.89.

Add that to the $221 rental fee, and $120 additional charges, and the total cost is $516 for the week. Seems steep to me.
For this trip I booked an intermediate car with Costco for budget back in Jan. I played the watch game to rebook at a lower rate. I was delighted when our 11 day rental dropped to $350 the week prior to departure. ----only to have hubby say cancel, I prefer National bec he too is Emerald member We paid approx $100 more but we took a SUV from Executive aisle and drove right off.
Answer 21 of 25: Well , I broke down and booked 15 days at $12.50 day . $450 total. It’s what we’re comfortable with and DHCR is still over $900 arriving in 14 days .
Answered: Is anyone else having a problem with getting National Car rental to accept discount coupons such as their advertised 33% off weekend rates, or the slew of entertainment book discounts?
