Opened in 1982, this 1.7-mile pedestrianized stretch is lined with more than 300 stores, restaurants, and bars. But don't worry, you can easily get from one end to the other on a free shuttle bus.
The 16th Street Mall is a pedestrian and transit mall in Denver, Colorado that opened in 1982. The mall, 1.25 miles (2 kilometers) long, runs along 16th Street in downtown Denver, from Wewatta Street (at Union Station ) to the intersection of 16th Avenue and Broadway (at Civic Center Station).
The 16th Street Mall is, well, a street, lined with buildings many of which have some architectural or historical significance to the city, and many of which have adaptively been repurposed for retail or restaurant ground floor uses, with office or other uses above. Retail store hours vary.
The 20-floor clock tower has clock faces on all four sides. May Company purchased Daniels & Fisher in 1958, and the store vacated the tower. When the store was demolished (ca. 1971), the tower was saved and renovated into residential and office space in 1981. A 2½ ton bell occupies the top two floors of the building, above the observation deck.

The 16th Street mall Pavilion closes at 9:00 pm like a normal retail mall- keep in mind there are several bars/ restaurants that stay open much much later as well as a movie theater on the 3rd floor that stays open late. There is plenty to do and see. Enjoy!!
