If you can manage renting from a neighborhood rental location instead of an airport rental location, that will also save you a ton of money.

   I have tried all the sites suggested and always end up booking with the rental company directly. I just booked 11 days with thrifty for $ 313.00 total ( including the crazy fees ) for a wild car. I used the AAA discount, hot deals, and am a Blue Chip Member. Just keep checking because prices can change a few times a day.

I was surprised to find that, as an Alamo insider member, the cost of a car rental was within $1.00 of the Costco price for the same car and same dates.
