12 years ago. Listerine contains eucalyptol, a derivative of eucalyptus oil. Eucalyptus based compounds have been reported to repel mosquitos. However, the eucalyptol content of Listerine is 0.092%, which is unlikely to be enough strength to have any effect on Mosquitos, or at least for any length of time.
Answer 11 of 21: Hi there ... now this might seem like a strange question/survey. I have read that Listerine (original) really works well (full strength in a spray bottle) to keep the pests away - have read articles that if you spray it around the lawn, patio etc...
