Google, in addition to the online travel agents offering the ticket (which, like most people on here, I tend to ignore) they often refer to the airline's website.
It probably is a legit (i.e. legal) company but that doesn't make it a good idea to use. Airfares are rarely "live" and when you try to book, you are sent an email requesting more money for the higher fare. If you try to cancel, you will get your money back months later, if at all.

GF does much more click through directly to the airline and, when it can't link through to an airline site it provides the airline's book by phone number and suggests that. As an *aid* to guide you towards good deals it's great. Use it like that - "trust but verify" - and Google Flights is great.
11. Re: clarification about using Google flights. 2 years ago. "Separate tickets booked together" is one of several ways Google Flights can display misleading results these days. It's always a red flag. Sometimes, as OP found, the individual "separate" tickets are not actually bookable on the airline websites at the listed prices.
