A friend and I are attending a convention in Las Vegas in Mid July, from the 11th to the 19th or 20th. I have looked into the flights, there will be two of us, both having luggage to check, and we would be renting a car. Currently, it would save about $400 to drive versus fly.

Note that "the Strip" is 4 miles long so it's not easy to give you an estimate without knowing where you plan on starting from. Personally it's not a walk I'd want to do.

BWI is also a good option, with Southwest offering several nonstop per day. Easy train ride from downtown Washington. DCA doesn't have much in the way of nonstop flights to Las Vegas.

Easiest way is to go outside via the door in Bally's that's near the indoor mini golf area. Then it's literally 1 block away from there (side note in case anyone doesn't know: If you do this walk, you'll be walking next to where Tupac was shot back in the 1990s) 10.
