5. Re: Hertz Gold membership question. 6 years ago. No, you need to have the GR number on the reservation to qualify for the service, which basically means they pre- allocate a car to you which you can just go to the garage and drive off in, depending on the location arrangements.
I've joined 'Hertz Gold' membership and booked my car rental via the official Hertz phone line and have prepaid for the car on my credit card. They have my credit card details on file already. I am picking up at SLC airport and dropping off at SF. The rental is in my name.
12 years ago. I joined Hertz Gold Club earlier this year while they were offering it free of charge, and made a booking for a car for my holiday last 2 weeks of April. Upon arrival at MCO I switched on my mobile and received an E-mail from Hertz stating which car I had been allocated and in which bay it was located.
Hertz could not match the reservation on my membership number as there was no reservation. The reason for using a 3rd party was time pressure. Didn’t have time to go through easy provider individually & whilst on the road wasn’t able to (even if I had thought of it) call hertz direct to check - which would kind of defeated the whole point ...

If you are a AAA card member, I believe additional driver fee is waived. If you are 65 and additional fees are required, that would be age discrimination.
