I doubt there are any laws but there could be airline rules or policies on this issue - I've certainly seen plenty of clips on youtube with cabin crew.. If it was me I'd wait for a quiet time during the flight such as after meal/drink service - ask politely and explain your reasons and you'll probably get a positive response.
