It will be a different season and that will show the deer in a different perspective. A visit to Bainloch Deer Park is highly recommended for anyone holidaying in the southern part of Dumfries and Galloway. This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
The deer are gentle & enjoy eating from your hand. Other animals are viewed too but not necessarily fed by visitors. We saw raccoons, lemurs, llama, camel, horses, emu, goats, chickens, pheasants, peacocks and more. Lots of different deer ; young and mature animals. You can purchase packages of crackers to feed the animals when paying admission.
Kids love trying to feed the deer. They’re so overfed that amongst the dozens of deer at the front of the park, it took half an hour to find deer that would eat all the biscuits we bought. There are plenty of deer inside as well so you can hold onto the biscuits and feed the more hungry ones inside. We saw a man standing in front of 3 deer.

Fantastic experience at Bainlock Deer Park! We did a 4x4 tour, our guide was really knowledgable and the kids were engaged throughout. A fantastic thing to do! We had lunch at the cafe afterwards, very reasonably priced and great food with awesome views over the deer park. Visited on 8th August 2024

Nov 2012 • Family. I know the park is relocating, however it was over $30 for 3 adults to feed the deer through the fence and narrowly avoid being attacked for free roaming llama and emus. Overall just a very odd experience, the website advertised feeding the deer in an open area, however due to mating season it was strictly through a fence ...
Beautiful park, incredible ball fields, soccer fields, trails and more! Visited early in the morning to find fellow walkers getting their morning exercise walking the 1/2 mile around the ball fields. We decided to try one of the trails appropriately called "Huff and Puff". Great way to get your cardio work out.
