   Denver is a time-consuming airport. I fly into DEN frequently and rent cars. My personal rule of thumb is hitting rental car lot 90 minutes before flight time. Sadly they had many cars in the lot but they were considered upgrades and price gauging customers if they wanted a car. I had a full size reserved on a corporate account (business trip).

Enterprise has a great deal on SUV's at DIA- $21 per day and you don't have to pay for an additional driver if it is your spouse like you do with Dollar and Thrifty. Might add that I have been checking rates for September so don't know about July or August rates.
