Aug 7, 2023, 5:35 PM. There are no government rules that would prohibit wrapped gifts in checked bags or carryon bags in the U.S.. But if TSA or CBP want to take a closer look, they will open the wrapping to see what is inside and you cannot say no. And they will not rewrap it for you afterward.

I'm travelling to Nashville tomorrow and I have a few presents to take, if I wrap them is there any chance I would have to unwrap them at security, one of them is electronic and two are sweets. Should I just take the wrapping paper and sort them when I arrive.

Denver might be known, or certainly Colorado so something evocative of the city or the state could work.
