Depending on your direction(s) of travel, number in your group, and volume of luggage - parking outside the city limits and taking public transit in is an option that can sometimes be cheaper. 3. Re: Parking in New York (Theater district) 6 years ago. In and around the theater district will be expensive for parking. However, many of the garages have fixed/flat prices depending on what time you arrive and leave the garage. The earlier you arrive and later you leave, the better. And the prices are posted.

Re: Where to park: Pier 88 ( Manhattan Cruise terminal) There is a large outoor secure parking lot on West End Avenue at 61st or 62nd St. West End Avenue is one block east of the pier. Drop your luggage and people in your party at the ship dock. Drive to the parking lot, park the car and walk back to the pier.
The bad: This theatre recently discontinued free parking. There is still validated parking, but only for 90 minutes without concession purchase. That's not enough time to park, get to your seat, watch a movie, and get out of the parking lot. Bottom line: Walk, take public transit, or go elsewhere. I'll go elsewhere. Feeling ripped off.
