17 years ago. Never had a problem with Alamo. Yes, their lines can be long, and that should tell you something.....that they're the most popular one because they probably have the best rates! Try signing up for their frequent renter program, and you just go to their other counter with the much shorter line.
Re: Alamo Car Rental Coupons for FLL (or any good deals!!) 9 years ago. The rates have magically dropped back to $30 a day for Alamo and $18 a day for Hotwire for the dates of January 13 to 16. Who knows why, but now I might book with Alamo. $30 a day I can handle, but when it goes up to $50 plus taxes, that's high.
Based on the information from this form, I have a resv. through Costco for Alamo, 7 day rental full size (Fusion or similar) at $285.00 total which I think is a good price. Just checking Costco website today and found rate through Budget for Standard vehicle (Chrysler 200 or similar) at $193.00 total so almost $100.00 savings.

Have rented full size from Alamo several times. Chevy Impala and Toyota Camry in 2011. Had a Dodge Charger both times last year. Was offered a choice of small SUVs since the full size row was sparse, but ended up with the Dodge Charger. If you haven't already, sign up as an Alamo Insider, and you can bypass the counter and use the kiosk.
