When I use Google Maps to plan routes I often see warnings about closures , detours etc. ( because of Rome's prep for Jubilee 2025). I wonder if anyone might be able to tell me if Google Maps for Public Transportation is still reasonable to use even with all the construction and detours, (let alone the heat.)
Google Maps is fine, but you do need to get the spelling of the place names right or it might send you somewhere completely different ! Just remember that it only attempts to give drive times & cannot include rest /photo/toilet/coffee stops. We do recommend a driver reviver every 2hr so if GM says 5hr, expect to take more than 6 hr.

Google Map France can also be downloaded for offline use. You just won't get live traffic. Map use doesn't consume a ton of data anyway. I have an old but still kicking Garmin as well. I still use it when I drive in foreign countries. I then use Google Map as a back-up, primarily for searches.
