I am looking for a one way rental between Albuquerque and Vegas. I am flexible, I can start in either city. I am looking at a three day rental somewhere between 7/25 and 7/31. All the prices I am getting are in the $500-$600 range. I know one way rentals are a loosing proposition but these prices strike me as really high.

I did a quck search on Hertz (my preferred car rental firm) and was quoted £961 (around $1500) for a 24 day rental including the one way drop off fee and all the relevant insurance. You might want to get a quote from Hertz for your rental - I certainly think $4000 is over the top.

Answer 1 of 12: I'm planning to rent a car one way from vegas to phoenix. I had hoped to rent it at the hotel before Ieaving as it is more convenient. But it is expensive!!
