Tough call but between the parking charges there and the cost and hassle for the rental car in this situation I believe I'd do the van and taxi from FLL to hotel and hotel to Port ( Uber Lyft would be cheaper than taxi). Taxi or Uber are not a good option for your airboat transport - no dependable service that far out of town as far as I know.

It depends what airline you are coming in on- if your flight gets into Terminal 1 you can just walk across the walkway - if you come into one of the other 3 terminals that are built around the rental center in a square pattern, you will have to take a brief airport bus ride- but ...
Car rental at airport for late late night arrivals. 7 years ago. We are looking for a car rental that would be open late hours as we arrive at 1am. We were thinking if there is a shuttle that would run that late at night to a hotel and than get a return back in morning to pick up car rental. Help, very stressful to get a holiday planned.

8 years ago. JetBlue in terminal 3. I've walked that distance in many other airports just as busy and big. But not sure here if it is even physically possible. Like are there walkways. It looks like on the terminal maps the quickest way is to walk straight across the road and thru the two other center garages to get thru to the rental car center.
Currently, Orlando Airport has a Visitor Toll Pass that you can pick up and use thereby bypassing the highly expensive use of rental car companies e-toll system. The pass does the job of a transponder, with no service fees. It works in any cashless toll lane on any road in the state, even if there happens to be a manned lane for cash payments.
