Re: buying a ticket for someone else on Southwest. 9 years ago. You can buy tickets for anyone you want online and on the phone. You need to make sure you have the person's name exactly as it appears on their government issue ID (whether a driver's license or a passport). That's very important these days.
I booked a flight with American Airlines from BCN to JFK and I just saw that i provided my date of birth incorrectly. (wrong month only). I called them, and they said it is changed now. Few hours after, i checked on the internet, but my flight appeared still with the wrong date of birth.
