The hotel sites that offer AAA discounts have a place where you select AAA rate which is about 15% when booking online or will give the discount when showing up on the day.

While we were there we rented a car from AAA Car Rental. We had the BEST experience!!! There was a miscommunication regarding the timing of the rental. Part of our AAA/Avanti package was a transfer from the hotel in Paris to the airport. The night before we were scheduled to fly out, we called the phone number Avanti had provided for the transfer. We reached someone and were told to be in the lobby by 7AM the next morning. We were sitting in the lobby at 7AM and by 7:30AM, no one had arrived.

As far as towing, we do carry our AAA cards, but, you do have to think a bit before you take your rental car on the lonely unimproved 4 wheel drive areas.
