Martinsville Speedway is a stock car racing short track in Ridgeway, Virginia, just south of Martinsville. The track was also one of the first paved oval tracks in stock car racing, being built in 1947 by partners H. I visited with some relatives the modified race held in October. is a annual thing for our family. The race was fine. We always get the hot dogs just because it is a Martinsville Speedway tradition. I have been buying them for some 50 years. I was not pleased with the product. They make of them so I am sure it is a challenge.
Here the emphasis is on real racing where the driver, crew chief and chassis man are more important than aero packages and how much downforce the cars make. You're not going to find lots of luxury boxes, huge video screens, wide promenades with trendy food choices (unless you count the famous "Martinsville Hot Dog") or valet parking here.
