We started out at La Quinta Cove and hiked along the ridge to Lake Cahuilla. Part of the trail follows above the golf course and we saw sheep in the golf course and enjoyed watching some golfers play through. The stretch of wash by the golf course is now closed so you need to follow the route in the hills. Pretty easy hike.
