In fairness Southwest advertises no change fee and in fact gives you a credit if you book a lower priced flight. You can even rebook the same flight if the fare drops and get a credit for the difference.

I tried to cancel refundable reservations within 8 hours of booking flights online. It's been over a week and refund has yet to be processed. Hawaiian Airlines will not let you cancel online. You must call in, which I did. I was told to proceed via texting. After 40 minutes of texting I was finally told the cancellation had been processed.
HA's own in-house site doesn't assess any 'booking' charges for HA fligths.. a *third party* site may do so, but HA's own in-house site doesn't. So, what I *think* you're asking is if you can place a hold on a seat using a 3rd party site, THEN later on cancel it and re-book, but do so via HA's own in-house site where no booking fees are added.
