    If it's Hidden it will be displayed when you display nonprinting characters (Ctrl+*) and will have black dotted lines under it.     Your document is set up as a Table and you cannot delete the paragraph mark that appears after a table. From your screen shot, it appears that there is a significant amount of space after the text "given the opportunity." so it may be that row is set to an exact height which is causing the paragraph after the table to the next page.

    Look in the Home tab > Paragraph group. Normally "Align Left" formatting is applied. If you do not see this button highlighted, click on it or use the <CTL><L> shortcut to apply it. If that fixes the problem, take a look at the style to see if you have to change the paragraph justification applied in the style.

    There may be one where you are seeing the white space. To remove it: Click into the white area to see if a text box appears. The text box can be easily deleted. With the text box selected move the mouse to one of the text box corners until you see a four-headed arrow. Then, right click and click on “cut” to delete the text box.

    Report abuse. First make sure you are displaying hidden characters. One method to is to press Cmd + 8 another is to select the button on you toolbar that looks like a backwards P, and the third way is from Word > Preferences > View > Hidden Characters > All. With the hidden characters shown, you might see what is causing the the extra space.

    See the screenshot below for an example of one of the more minor blank spaces Word is insisting on inserting at the bottom of pages.
