Re: Using a Discover card in Cancun. 13 years ago. I was listening to radio this morning and heard that credit card companies are now tacking heavy foreign currency conversion fees of 3% or more, causing you to spend more money. I am considering minimizing my credit card usage and going with traveler's check or cash.

Most restaurants, car rentals and hotel as well as major stores accept American Express. Pretty much everywhere accepts MC and Visa. In 19 years of travel to Cancun area I've never seen anywhere accept Discover. Cheryl. Report inappropriate content.
