    The last part of April and May are good because the fish are spawning and tend to be in shallower water where they're easier to find. When it gets warm they tend to disperse to deeper waters. I would guess many of the large lakes in Minnesota would have good northern fishing as well as guides and resorts.

    Nov 2022. The Minneapolis Chain of Lakes is a great walking, biking or driving tour for a one day trip. Lake Harriet and Lake of the Isles were the most impressive. In summer, Bde Maka Ska Lake has nice beaches and bigger crowds than the others. There are more lakes in the chain that I haven't had much time to explore.
