6 years ago. You won't find ANY car rental companies without bad reviews. People give bad reviews for a number of reason but the majority of reasons are unwarranted when it comes to the better companies. Companies to avoid will be Firefly, Maggiore, Goldcar and Locauto. These are bad companies and should be avoided at all costs.
Answer 1 of 13: Taking a trip to Ireland next summer and want to do some advance planning. We plan on flying to Dublin and spending a couple of days there - then rent a car and spend two weeks driving through the countryside.

Answered: I spent a few days checking prices & coverages for my 18 day trip to Italy...I checked all major rental companies and info was not complete, some coverages were not included and all the estimates came over $1100 dollars.
The number of complaints is a tiny fraction of the number of rentals, but the vast majority who had no problem are not motivated to get online and post a rant. Generally you will have least problems if you use one of the major companies: Avis, Europcar, Hertz. 2.
Yes, you can take a car into Northern Ireland but you'd need to check with the car hire company. Some companies have an additional charge.
