Recently booked flights on United Airlines' Website that included multiple airlines, both for going and return flights for an advertised, website fee of $870. However, after apparently booking the flight, received an email that flight could not be confirmed immediately, followed by an email that indicated the flight was not able to be booked.
United bumped my daughter from a Thanksgiving week flight due to overbooking and promised to mail a refund check to me (the purchaser). The first week of December they told her it was in the mail. One month later, it's still not here. I went online to the refund page but when I put in her ticket number it came up "not found."

My statement shows it's a TX number and White Pages look up says it's a TN number. Report inappropriate content.
There are more of these fake customer support numbers out there than people realize, not just airlines. My father wanted to talk to someone from a well known consumer electronic company. He’s a senior citizen and likes to talk on the phone rather than email. He googled the company plus customer service and got a fake number and called it.
"It scares me somewhat to dial a number thinking it is the airline itself we are dealing with when they answer 'customer service " and we think it is United ( or whatever airline we thought we called) when its. not. This was an eye opener for me." ===== Yup, it was an eye opener for me too.
