The problem in dropping it off thr night before is many hotel don’t operate shuttles for flights pre 7am. Many national car rental companies allo early am drop car off and put keys in a box.
4. Re: 24 Hour car rentals at DCA. 11 years ago. Alamo's Web site says the DCA location is open 5:30 a.m.-11:59 p.m. (IAD open 24 hrs.). Alamo 6 a.m.-12:30 a.m. Budget 7-12:30. Enterprise 5:30 a.m. -11:45 p.m.. Hertz says 0700-0230. Rates can vary widely from company to comapny, so unless Hertz is cheaper, I'd just use a taxi that night (likely ...
3. Re: Alamo 'Save Time' at DCA. 9 years ago. Save. Victoria isn't being facetious. When I arrive at DCA and need a car, I head to long-term parking, where I Ieft mine on my outbound trip. Most of the people who respond to questions on this board live in the DC area and are unlikely to have rented carsfrom ANY provider at the airport.

You could get lost quite a bit trying to find DCA and still spend less time than it would take to get to Dulles. Both sites are pretty well marked and as long as you can read the signs getting in and out is easy.
