I suggest taking a look at the Deal and Discounts Page on Universal Orlando Website for all discounts on park offerings. Smoking is permitted only in designated areas. For Guests convenience, there are currently 7 smoking areas at Universal Studios Florida and I do apologize that your experience was impacted by this.
You can get tickets at the hotel, there is a Universal desk in the lobby, but I do not know if they are discounted from the prices charged at the park. There is also a free shuttle bus from the hotel to the entrance to the park, you have check the Universal desk for the schedule, but it isn’t a very far walk. So unless the bus is coming ...

I was able to purchase 2 days and a 3rd day free(2 Park-to-Park tickets) Printed off tickets before leaving home and went straight to the line to get in that morning.
