Be careful with Hotwire on rental cars...the car types they show on the website are not what the agency offers locally. We rented a Cadillac ATS or similar for San Jose de Cabo in Mexico on 7/23/15 and the similar was a Nissan Maxima...which I would have been ok with but you can rent a Nissan Maxima or similar at the same location for 1/2 the cost.
BUT once you buy in, you are locked in and have to pay right away.Try sixt.com has one of the best deals with cancellation. Do not use hotwire, you will be locked in to the rental before you know who its thru. I just went to Florida and rented a car thru Hotwire who set up the rental with Thrifty, which you find out only after you accept and make payment. I didn't use Hotwire, used Kayak. It was Dollar, the guy said it was about 1.5 mi north of the airport. 2400 Miami Road. That didn't work for me in many ways as I have two small children, arriving late after the off-airport rental location is closed.
