    If you are using the Chase Freedom card which offers cash rebates you may be OK. You´ll pay 3% (1% currency conversion to Visa/MC and 2% to Chase) for foreign credit card use but might recoup some of the fees with the rebate program. Same concept for the ATM withdrawals 1% currency conversion to the network and 2% to Chase. Are there better deals?

As has been said, contact the credit cards companies and banks prior to leaving. Most credit unions will charge you a minimal transaction fee.
