After racking up over 50,000 points with MBNA credit card, but then keeping them as an "emergency" backup credit card I wanted to cash in points for a trip. Called in and told was down to 4,500 points. They slashed the points each month without so much as a "by the way". No option to cash them in and I am not at all happy.

Credit cards..beware..Infinity Bay. 11 years ago. We were there Jan 27-Feb 03. The only time I pulled out my credit card in Roatan was during check in for the standard required "in case of incidentals" charges. I have been contacted by MBNA security to let me know that there are many charges trying to be put through my CC this month (March).
MBNA offers better cash back rewards, which is why I ask this question. I would rather not risk it though, and bring my Canadian Tire card to be safe. I was also able to pay for my vacation using my MBNA credit card through Hola Sun, which I understand was not possible in the past even if you booked within Canada.
