    After racking up over 50,000 points with MBNA credit card, but then keeping them as an "emergency" backup credit card I wanted to cash in points for a trip. Called in and told was down to 4,500 points. They slashed the points each month without so much as a "by the way". No option to cash them in and I am not at all happy.

The only time I pulled out my credit card in Roatan was during check in for the standard required "in case of incidentals" charges.     MBNA offers better cash back rewards, which is why I ask this question. I would rather not risk it though, and bring my Canadian Tire card to be safe. I was also able to pay for my vacation using my MBNA credit card through Hola Sun, which I understand was not possible in the past even if you booked within Canada.
