You can use any site you want, but why bother with the middleman when you can almost always find the fare you want at the same or lower price by going direct to the airline. And you own your own ticket as opposed to having to get the third party involved in flight disruptions.

    After racking up over 50,000 points with MBNA credit card, but then keeping them as an "emergency" backup credit card I wanted to cash in points for a trip. Called in and told was down to 4,500 points. They slashed the points each month without so much as a "by the way". No option to cash them in and I am not at all happy.
