Mar 2, 2024, 8:45 AM. I’m in Italy now for 11+ weeks; I’m also an Xfinity mobile customer (great plan for the US!) and I’m doing exactly what Joe T describes: an eSIM for data, and WiFi, FaceTime and WhatsApp for phone calls. Way less expensive than the Xfinity global plan option of $10/day.

Re: Using xfinity mobile in Europe. kirby, Check your phone settings - in order to connect to a local cellular provider to make and receive phone calls which Xfinity will subsequently bill you for, airplane mode must be toggled OFF. But be careful to also turn cellular data off unless to want to receive a hefty pay-as-you-go data bill.

You can also turn the cell service off completely on the north shore beaches since the service there isn’t great anyway. Report inappropriate content.
