You complete OLCI as normal and then select send the boarding pass to a phone option. You then open it and it shows a QR code which is held to the scanners at the airport. Many airlines have specific apps which are geared up to issuing QR boarding passes. Pretty efficient system IMO.

So you'd be okay there (and more so at Oslo airport check-in). Not sure about the QR check for cinemas etc, that is app-based (though it also can handle printed QR codes).

Public transportation ticketing works as honor system in Germany (with stiff fines in case you are caught without a valid ticket).
